Laura Meenen started her 2019/20 season as a Soloist of the Mariinsky Theater Academy.
Her work includes singing the part of Charmion in Massenet’s CLEOPATRE, the second Lady in
Alexander Tchaikovsky’s CHESS KING, Snow-White in Kalmanovsky’s oper SNOW-WHITE,
LIPONKA in Sagdiev’s REPKA, Infantin in Zemlinsky’s DER ZWERG and Arminda in Mozart’s
LA FINTA GIARDINIERA, etc.
In Summer 2018 she was singing as well the part of NEDDA in a new production of Leoncavallo’s
I PAGLIACCI in Germany, Volkstheater Rostock.
In august 2018 she sang also the part of LOLA in Mascagni’s CAVALLERIA RUSTICANA, at the
first Sea Symphony Festival in Sochi, Russia under Maestro Anton Lubchenko and the staging of
In Fall 2018 she took part in the International Opernwerkstatt 2018, Festival der jungen Stimmen in
Laura earned big succes performing the Infantin in Zemlinsky’s Der Zwerg under Maestro Leon
Botstein at the Mariinsky Theater, during Valery Gergiev’s Summer Festival of the white Nights
In the season 2016/17, Laura Meenen took part in several new productions of the Mariinsky Theater
and the Valery Gergiev Summer Festival of the White Nights.
She earned in Summer 2017 big success singing the part of Contessa Almaviva in Mozart’s LE
NOZZE DI FIGARO with the young Wiener Philharmoniker in Vienna (Konzerthaus), Graz
(Konzerthaus), Salzburg (Odeion) and Schloss Thalheim (a project of the Angelika Prokopp
Sommerakademie der Wiener Philharmoniker).
Laura Meenen did her postgraduate diploma at the Saint Petersburg State Conservatory in 2017 and
finished her Master of Opera (2019) in Vienna at the Musik und Kunst Privatuniversität der Stadt
Wien under Niels Muus and KS. Elena Filipova.
During her studies she had the opportunity to sing in the Opera Studio of the Conservatory the parts
of Euridice in ORPHEE, Tatyana in EUGEN ONEGIN, Iolanta in IOLANTA, Contessa in LE
NOZZE DI FIGARO and Vitellia in LA CLEMENZA DI TITO (Vienna).
She has received special awards from the Competizione dell’Opera 2017, the Fransisco Viñas
competition 2018 and the Ottavio Ziino Competition 2018.
She is a Prize winner of several international competition such as Georg Otts Competition 2019,
Rimski-Korsakov Competition 2016, Pavel Lisizian Competition 2016, Art Vocal 2015 and
Sviridov Competition 2014.
She was awarded with the Gartow Stiftung grant (Germany) in 2009-2011.
